To get what you want, Get Into It (Yuh)

I went to the bank the other day.

I don’t normally listen to the music there but this time it was Doja Cat.  I love Doja Cat! And it was one of my favorite songs, Get Into It (Yuh).

I thought my bank was way too conservative for something like Get Into It (Yuh).  But turns out, I was wrong.

As I stood in line the next song came on. Titi Me Pregunto by Bad Bunny.

Bad Bunny’s on?  And in Spanish?

No way…

It seems I wasn’t wrong after all.  The music was coming from MY cell phone.

When I reached my hand into my pocket for my wallet, I must have pressed the play button on my phone.  So my music was playing loud in the bank and I didn’t even know.

This reminded me of something I heard Abraham Hicks say.  You cannot see beyond your belief.

At the beginning of my banking visit I believed my bank was cool.  By the time Bad Bunny came on that belief was broken.

Belief works like this in every area of our lives.

But there’s good news…

You can train yourself to believe.   In anything!  And if you believe it, you can have it.  You can be more, see more, have more, and do MORE.

The secret though is we have to build belief one brick at a time like a brick wall.   You do it thru mediation, affirmations, training your emotions, habits, feelings, etc.

Not only will you believe what you want, you’ll know you can get it.

But what about the “how”?

That’s none of your business.

Miracles and big solutions come from the unknown.  Analyzing and trying to ‘think more’ is about as helpful as driving your car with your feet.

You can do it, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

There are no secrets

There are no secrets to success.

Actually there is.  There’s a TON secrets out there, that’s why they’re secrets. On just about every topic too.

There’s a reason why Disney’s Nine Old Men, their original nine animators, produced animation no one else could replicate for decades.  There’s secrets to making a one dimensional object look 2D.

There’s secrets to losing weight fast.

There’s secrets to taking great photos with bad lighting.

I just saw a video yesterday and it seems no one still knows the secret to how the ancient Egyptians moved those 30 ton boulders inside the pyramids.

Those are secrets, my friend.

And the main secret that holds most entrepreneurs back is…

Belief.

You have to have faith in yourself and KNOW that you can do it.  That’s why you study, take courses, and get coaching.  Yes, you may be doing sales and marketing but energetically what you are doing is building your belief one brick at a time like the Great Wall of China.

And when someone quits chasing their dreams?  They lost their belief.

And there’s no books or consultants that can change your situation if deep down inside you don’t have the confidence and faith that you can turn the negative around.

If you believe you’re poor with handling money, you’re right.

If you think you’re not as skilled as you need to be to suceed, you’re right.

If you think you are enough and you have everything you need, you are right.

PS  And let’s not forget you have secrets you can monetize and share with the world too.  😉

Borrowing the right tools to succeed

When I started taking music classes in college I struggled.

I’m talking about struggling like the beginning of Sylvester Stallone’s movie Cliffhanger.  Where the lady is holding on for dear life in what looks like the Grand Canyon, before she falls to her death.  I felt like that for three years.  There were ups too but since everyone around me had previous music training I always felt like the dumb one.

I trained like crazy for my first vocal recital.  I learned the song, sang in Italian, and hit all the right notes.  At the end of my performance I was more relieved than happy.  My voice teacher came over and congratulated me and she told me something special.

She said the director of the music department never talks about student performances.  But after my performance he came over and told her that, I have “it”.  She explained what “it” meant.  She didn’t have to, I knew that one all too well.

Beyonce was the “it” girl of Destiny’s Child.

Michael Jackson was the “it” guy of the Jackson 5.

When the glamour of being on stage wore off I was back in class swimming upstream.  When I felt like quitting or changing my major I hung onto the director’s words.  I didn’t feel like an “it” whiz so I borrowed his belief in ME.

I didn’t use his words just to get thru music classes I applied them everywhere.  Whenever I doubted myself I  borrowed my old director’s belief.  It gave me the strength to keep moving forward.

When Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran’s broker career was taking off she went to an event with a bunch of real estate moguls.  She was the only woman there and she got nervous.  Self doubt kicked in.  And then she thought, “I deserve to be here.”  Those words gave her the leap of faith she needed.  And the same is true for you.

You deserve to be here.

You deserve to make a living doing what you feel called to do.

You deserve to be paid handsomely for it.

As I told my oldest daughter…  You’re not Hermione Granger you’re Harry Potter.

You’re the one.  You’re Luke Skywalker.  You’re the one who is supposed to do what you came here to do and change your world.

You know how I know?  Because you’re here.  Now do us all a favor and continue to step into your greatness.
